Henry Smyth Obituary

Henry L. Smyth III, 80

Henry "Hank" L. Smyth III, 80, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

He was born October 23, 1930, at Plainfield, New Hampshire, to Henry Pumpelly Smyth II and Elinor Scott Smyth. Hank served in the United States Navy for 20 years that included the Korean Conflict. He married Suzanne Mary Rayburn on December 20, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona. Hank was a magician for the local nursing homes and Hospice of the Ozarks and also volunteered with Hospice of the Ozarks. He was a member of the American Legion Alley-White Post #52 and served on the funeral honor guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Michael Smyth; a brother; a sister and a grandson, Gerry Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Suzanne Smyth of Mountain Home; four daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Worsley of Lakeview, Judy and Roy Clark of Mountain Home, Sandra Moore of Cape Coral, Florida and Gia Rayburn of Mountain Home; a son, John Scott Smyth of Vermont; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and his dog, Parker.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home with the Rev. Nancy Taylor officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Alley-White Post #52. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
