Shirley and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Larry and I had some fun times with you and John. It's a very hard thing to go thru, and you are in my prayers. Kay Smith, San Diego .

Shirley and family my thoughts are with you. John hired me in 2000 to be a Land Management Representative. I couldn't have had a better mentor. What John didn't know about the SDG&E system wasn't worth knowing. He was a walking history book of what had happened over the years.
He did love to fish, in fact he let me come along on one of those overnight trips. The whole boat didn't catch more than a handful of fish. we were chasing paddies all over the Pacific trying to make the trip worthwhile, it never happened but John never gave up. I got seasick on that trip and missed most of what little fishing there was. I don't think I ever felt so bad and I haven't been on a boat since. He took pity on me and never invited me again. Thankfully.
He did love his fishing and his boats. I'm sure that as far as he was concerned the worst day fishing was always better than the best day at work.
Truly a nice guy and he will be missed by all that knew him.
My condolences.
