Sandra Anderson Obituary

Sandra Kay (Edwards) Anderson was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Freeport, Texas. She is the daughter of William Gerald Edwards and Leona Mildred (Swanson) Kirby.

She was raised in Galesburg, Illinois, with three brothers, William Gary Edwards, Terry Ray Edwards and Randy D. Edwards. On Oct. 2, 1955, Raymond Kirby became her dad, and a new brother, Jeffrey C. Kirby, was later born into her family.

Sandra was known to be a hard worker. Over the years she worked at her parent's store, Kirby Post & Feed in Midway, Baxter Laboratories, Town & Country Grocery in Gainesville, Mar-Bax Shirt Factory, Talbert's Men Store on the Square as a seamstress, ALCO Department Store as the cashier supervisor and Andy's Restaurant as an assistant manager.

Sandra was a VBS coordinator, Sunday school teacher, Missionette leader and coordinator of Young at Heart ministry at First Assembly of God in Mountain Home for years. She loved volunteering at the Mountain Home Christian Clinic. Sandra's greatest joy was serving as the executive director of the Ozark Center of Hope.

Sandra is survived by her husband, James R. Anderson of the home; two sons, Vincent S. Anderson and wife, Michelle, of Gassville and Timothy J. Anderson and wife, Molly, of McKinney, Texas; two brothers, Randy D. Edwards and wife, Linda, of Orem, Utah, and Jeffrey C. Kirby and wife, Nancy, of Keller, Texas; and four grandchildren, Alexander and wife, Maddie, Alysa, Macy and Tinsley.

Sandra was preceded in death by her stepfather, Raymond Kirby; mother, Leona Kirby; and brothers William Gary Edwards and Terry Ray Edwards.

The family will receive friends from, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Conner Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at First Assembly of God in Mountain Home with Pastor Josh Beers officiating.

Arrangements are by Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to Ozark Center of Hope, P.O. Box 1317, 307 W. North St., Mountain Home, AR 72654.

Sandra was a very special person and friend. She gave tirelessly to whatever task that was ask of her.
She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
