Thomas Kohlbrecher Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Charles Kohlbrecher, 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Mountain Home at Hospice of the Ozarks surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on May 16, 1938, in rural Breese near Jamestown, Illinois, to Edward and Josephine (Kruep) Kohlbrecher. He grew up in Highland, Illinois, and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1956. On June 8, 1963, he married Katherine Waggoner in St. Louis, Missouri.

He worked for Basler Electric in Highland starting in 1958. Then in 1968, he moved to Corning, Arkansas, as plant manager. Tom moved to Texas for Basler Electric working in Juarez and Pedros Negros, Mexico. He worked for Basler Electric for 38 years before retiring and then moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Tom married Claudia (Prince) Creameans in Watseka, Illinois on Feb. 19, 1999. They were together until her passing in 2020.

While retired, he drove cars for different car dealerships in Mountain Home. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He enjoyed reading. He loved the lake life of boating and watching his family ski on Lake Norfork, which was the sight of many family reunions.

He is survived by one daughter, Brenna Fraine (Jeff Edmondson) of Eureka Springs, Ark.; one stepson, Jack Creameans of Corning, Ark.; grandchildren Joshua (Rheanna) Fraine and Zackery Fraine of Rogers, Ark., Chelsea (Ryan) Kohlbrecher of Conway, Ark., Andrea (Bo) Luker of Mountain Home, Ark., Albert (Catherine) Creamans of Corning, Ark, and Gary Creameans of Chattanooga, Tenn.; great-grandchildren Khloe, Jeremiah, Brooklyn, Brycen and Jordan Fraine, Allyssa, Georgia and Olivia Creameans, Madelyn and Tommy Luker and one on the way; two brothers, Edward and Robert Kohlbrecher of Highland, Ill.; one sister, Susan (Gaye) Michael of Highland, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Kohlbrecher of Louisburg, N.C., and Sue Hines of Corning, Ark.; and 10 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brent S. Kohlbrecher; his wife, Claudia (Prince) Creameans Kohlbrecher; two brothers, David and William Kohlbrecher; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kohlbrecher and Katherine Kohlbrecher; and the Fraine twins, Magnolia and Amelia.

A visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Conner Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at Ermert Funeral Home, 1000 W. Elm St., Corning, AR 72422. Burial will follow at Corning Cemetery.
