Wanda Castoe Obituary
She was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Stephens County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert and Effie Human Burns. She married Chester Castoe on Jan. 7, 1972 in Gainesville, Texas. Wanda spent her working years creating custom décor and furnishings, from window treatments to furniture coverings.
Wanda relocated to Lakeview, Arkansas, in 2004, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. For 18 years, she made the Twin Lakes Area her home. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Mountain Home and found joy in helping her community through church. She enjoyed traveling when the opportunity arose and loved to cook. Wanda found great interest and spent much of her time researching family genealogy.
Wanda is survived by her nieces, Deborah Lewis of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Patricia Stewart of Harrison, Arkansas, and Vonda Jean Stewart of Harrison, Arkansas; step-children Christopher Lynn Castoe and Angela Williams; several grandchildren; great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Castoe; parents Robert and Effie Burns; sister, Patsy Webb; and niece Gayla Ross.
Visitation for friends will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Funeral Service for Wanda will be 2 p.m. Friday at the church with Bishop Eric Chase officiating.
Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
