I just heard about David through FB. I lived next door to David in junior high school. Loved all those boys! We had a great time together. We had a snow one winter but the streets weren't good for sledding. David and Marvin took a water hose and iced the ally behind our houses. It made a great sled course complete with turns and a lake at the bottom of the hill. We had to make a 90 degree turn to avoid going in the water. The neighbors behind us used the ally to get to their houses, since they lived on a steep hill. I'm sure they weren't too happy with any of us! I am so sorry for your loss.

Mumme was one-of-a-kind. What a fun, talented and crazy guy. He was so likable that it was always a party whenever he was around. Many, many fond memories of the great year together we had in flight school with David and Susan. Semper Fi.

After the first 3 times David ran over me on the football field in 1965, I decided I didn't like him much. That opinion totally reversed itself for the next 48 years. An officer and a gentleman .......

He was called "the Baron" in our AF pilot training class. The title matched his class and demeanor. He was one of the best of the best. God's Speed, Amigo.
