Jennifer Lundberg Parrish, MD
08/28/1957 - 11/27/2025
Jennifer Lundberg Parrish, beloved Chico, CA physician, community leader, board member, host, family member and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thanksgiving, 2025, after a graceful and courageous battle with ALS.
Jennifer attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, graduating in 1987. She and husband Kevin moved to San Francisco, CA to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Kaiser, achieving Chief Resident in her third year. Upon completing her residency, she and three other residents started Kaiser San Francisco's innovative Hospitalist Program.
Following the birth of their daughters in 1992 and 1994, they moved back to Chico, CA in 1996. This decision came from her desire to reengage with her community and have the time to be an active parent for her daughters. It was in Chico where she practiced medicine as a primary care physician until her retirement in 2020.
Jennifer was a memorable character: she had an easy laugh, a biting wit, and always a fabulous wardrobe. She enjoyed telling a good joke and always took the time to engage meaningfully with those around her. She stayed in contact with the many friends that she had made along the way, a rich vein of joy. Jennifer's home was a true reflection of her quirky, colorful, meticulous, and generous self. She hosted countless celebrations, holidays, and weekend family time. In her final decade, she became a prolific letter writer, composing personalized birthday cards to over 100 family and friends. She continued giving this gift to those around her until the end.
Jennifer was a wonderful mom! Whether it was traveling to visit her daughters across the country or world or just running errands around Chico with them, she practiced her time-honored saying of "time is love." She 'kept it real' in many discussions of life, never shrinking from expressing the truth. She was patient where it mattered and made every moment magical through her humor and ability to think outside the box. It was an honor and blessing to be your girls.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Kevin, daughters and sons-in-law Madeline Parrish and Pierre Dal Bianco and Georgia and David Hamner; her grandchildren Louis Dal Bianco and Jennifer Hamner; her siblings Grant and Susie Lundberg, and Julianne Stafford; sister-in-law Susan Rafalski and nieces and nephews Adam and Jessica Rafalski, Emma and Brandon Reddish, Grace Stafford, Ansel and Britany Lundberg, and Nelson Stafford; along with a large extended family.
