Delores Aleta Davis was born to Burney and Dottie Bissett in Tivoli, Texas on February 12, 1935 in the same house her father was born in. Her father was a farmer and in October of 1942 moved to a large farm in Port Lavaca, TX. She attended Port Lavaca High School where she sang in the choir, played saxophone in the band and then later was a Majorette for the band. After graduating high school, she moved to Victoria, TX where she worked for the newspaper The Victoria Advocate. She moved to Houston, TX in January of 1957 where she worked at Humble Oil in the Advertising Dept.
She worked extremely hard throughout her life to provide for her three children. Always selflessly giving them more than she ever gave herself. She was employed at Johnson Space Center where she worked at the circulation desk in the scientific technical library for 16 years. After her retirement, she worked in the church nursery.
She attended church all of her life from the Baptist church in her hometown of Tivoli to Nassau Bay Baptist Church at the time of her death.
She had many, many dear friends that she treasured.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three children, Son, Craig Davis and wife Jennifer, Jena Westfall and husband Wes Westfall, Tanya Trahan and husband Elus Trahan, 8 grandchildren Brittany, Jennifer, Rachel, John Paul, Nicholas, Connor, Madison and Reagan, and her sister Marlene Day.
She was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior all the days of her life. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday Feb 11 th at Forest Park East Cemetery and a memorial celebration of life to be held at Nassau Bay Baptist Church on Thursday Feb 11 th at 2:30 pm with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association and Nassau Bay Baptist Church in her name would be appreciated.

Delores was a beautiful person inside and out. I loved and admired her so very much. She has left this world to join those that she loves in our eternal home, but she leaves behind three beautiful children, and they in turn are following in her loving footsteps and teaching their children to put God first and family next. Delores will be missed. My prayers and love are with the family. I am so sad that I will be out of town on Thursday, but my thoughts will be with all of you.
