Geraldine "Gerry" Marie (Walsh) MacDonald passed away on March 21st, 2016 of natural causes at the age of 82. A 45 year resident of Seabrook, Texas, Mrs. MacDonald was born on October 6, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. MacDonald Jr., her father W. Clarence Walsh, and her mother, Maxine O. Walsh. She married her husband of 61 years, Bob, in April of 1952. She grew up in Highland Park, Illinois and graduated from Highland Park High School and Miami of Ohio University with a degree in elementary education. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority while attending Miami.
After college she lived in Vestal, New York, West Lafayette, Indiana, and finally in Seabrook, Texas. She taught school at Morton Elementary in West Lafayette, League City Elementary, and finally for many years at LaVace Stewart Elementary in Kemah, Texas. She was recognized as a Who's Who in teaching, named as a lifetime member of the PTA, and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Teaching Organization. She was active in the community in various roles including as a member of a committee to establish the Clear Lake Regional Hospital, was a board member of the Seabrook Library, served on the Seabrook Civic Improvement Club for many years, and was an assistant coach for the Bay Area Youth Tennis Organization. She also served as President of a local Panhellenic Organization and was a member of the Clear Creek Association of Retired Teachers.
She is survived by her sister Gail Druzisky, her brother Bill Walsh, sons Timothy, Scott, Michael and Andrew as well as Daughters- in- law, Lynette and Janell. She also leaves her grandchildren Christopher and his wife Alexandria, Heather and her husband Joshua, Mitchell and his wife Shelby, Tristan, Jake, Aimee, Abby, Lauren, and Austin, and great granddaughter Charlotte. Gerry will be remembered as a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church 18223 Point Lookout Drive, Nassau Bay, TX on April 29th at 10:30 AM where she attended for over four decades. She will be buried in the Seabrook Cemetery overlooking Galveston Bay. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in Mrs. MacDonald's name to Friends of the Evelyn Meador Branch Library, 2400 North Meyer Avenue, Seabrook, TX 77586.

Mrs. MacDonald was an energetic, kind woman and neighbor. She had a heart of gold dealing with the shenanigans of the Seascape boys! My thoughts and prayers go out to Tim, Scott, Mike & Andy at this time. I know your mother will be missed.
