Jesse "Morgan" Robinson, 88, retired from Champion International Paper & Simpson Paper Company, entered into Heaven's Gates on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. He was born September 16, 1926 in Asheville, NC in the Great Smoky Mountains and spent his childhood in Fayetteville, NC.
Being an NC State chemical engineer graduate, Morgan dedicated his life to the paper industry for almost 50 years. While on a six month work assignment in Brazil, he met and married the love of his life, Margot. In 1961, he brought his bride back to the US where the two settled in Southeast Houston. Eventually they moved to Friendswood where they have resided for the last 10 years. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Wells Robinson and Lucile Morgan Robinson.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Margot Pacheco Robinson; his two daughters, Michélle Gordy and her husband, Ray Gordy, of The Woodlands, TX, and Monique Hansen and her husband, Brian Hansen, of Friendswood, TX; sister, Martha Reeves, of Hickory, NC; seven grandchildren, Alexandra Gordy, Avery Gordy, Addison Gordy, Grant Tucker, Zack Tucker, Cade Tucker and Elijah Hansen; and other out of state/country relatives and cherished friends.
Morgan enjoyed a good history book, watching/reading mystery series, playing golf, taking care of animals and volunteering to teach adults to read post retirement. He will be remembered as a humble, simple, sweet man, living his life as a Christian example.
The family is grateful to all the amazing caregivers who crossed his path this past year, especially, Aggie Dial, Queen Bee Quilters, and all his personal caregivers and nurses at Friendship Haven in Friendswood, TX.
A memorial mass to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 with Rev. James H. Kuczynski, M.S. and Rev. Benny Thadathilkunnel, M.S. officiating. Organist, music and flowers by Russell Bolduc.
Friends are cordially invited to the reception immediately following the service at the main reception hall adjacent to the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Morgan's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org or American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org or a charity of your choice.

Dear Robinsons,
I was sorry to find out that Morgan had passed away and especially sad that I didn't find out until after the memorial service. I worked with Morgan at the mill on my very first job after graduating from NC State. He was always very good to me and a joy to work with. I know that he was extremely proud of his daughters. I'm sure he was a proud grandparent as well. Please accept my condolences and know that you will all be in my prayers.
