Rae McMullan Obituary
Rae Weathers McMullan, 75, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014. She was born on November 7, 1939 to Willie Weathers and Maybelle Knight Weathers in Meridian, MS. Rae was born and lived most of her life in Mississippi where she retired from Winn Dixie. She moved to Friendswood after her first husband died to help take care of her two beloved granddaughters. She was an active member of Calvary Chapel and Friendswood Senior Center. She loved to play games of all kinds, including cards, puzzles, dominos, bowling, and Scrabble. She also loved her fried fish and daily cup of McDonald's coffee.
She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Thomas "Tex" Powell and J.L. McMullan.
Rae is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Joyce and Phil Bowen; granddaughters, Kelly and her husband Wesley Rowntree and Kristen and her husband Daniel Salminen; and 3 of her 7 siblings, Carol Jordan, Elaine Hurtt and James Weathers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Calvary Chapel Friendswood Food Bank, 3700 FM 528, Friendswood, TX 77546 or www.calvaryh.org or Friendswood Senior Center, 416 Morningside Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.
