Ruby Elk Obituary
Bonham-Funeral services for Ruby Anita Elk, age 80, of Ravenna, TX will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, TX. Bro. Darrell Hall and Rev. Dee Morton will officiate; interment will follow at Mulberry Cemetery. Mrs. Elk passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her home.
Ruby Anita Elk was born in Elwood Community, TX on December 25, 1934 to Daniel and Allie Belle (Hickson) Harden. She married Jimmy Ralph Elk on September 4, 1954 in Colbert, OK; he preceded her in death on July 9, 1997. Ruby was a homemaker and a member of Mulberry Methodist Church.
She is survived by sons, James Elk and wife Debbie of Denison, TX, Lee Elk of Clovis, NM, Les Elk of Ravenna, TX, Bruce Elk of Houston, TX, and Gary Elk and wife Lindsey of Yuma, AZ; daughter, Denita Floyd and husband Bob of Houston, TX; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Nichols of Boyd Community, TX; and best friend, Nelda Dixon of Bonham, TX. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Alta Nichols.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Elk, Brice Elk, Eric Noe, Derrick Nunn, Oscar Elk, and Allen Elk. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Griffin.
Family visitation will be on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham, TX from 6-8 pm.
