Jennifer Wiley Obituary

MILFORD - Jennifer Elizabeth Wiley passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Kent General Hospital as the result of a horseback riding accident. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Jennifer was born on Mar. 1, 1980 in Milford to Joseph and Renate Wiley during a snowstorm. She was raised in Milford and graduated from Milford Senior High School in 1998. After graduation, she attended Delaware Technical and Community College, studying architectural design before transferring to the University of Maryland. While in Maryland, Jennifer obtained her Real Estate license and returned to Milford in 2001 for the birth of her first niece. A few years later, Jennifer became a Real Estate Agent and managed Century 21 Blue Hen Realty in Dover, a family operated business. In 2009, Jennifer welcomed her daughter, Eva, into the world while completing her LPN. She then went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. A few years later, she realized that real estate was in her blood and she returned to ERA Harrington Realty, working with Shirley Renzi until October 2015. She then joined Masten Realty in November 2015 and worked closely with her father Joe, Wes Cromer, and Jamie Masten.
Jennifer was passionate about horseback riding and enjoyed riding with her daughter and her niece, Emma. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and working with her real estate clients and colleagues. Jennifer was a creative person who enjoyed hands-on activities. Jennifer was known as the decorator and event planner of the family, always giving her two cents. She was a devoted mother who loved her daughter, Eva more than life itself. She always put Eva first in everything she did. Jennifer was family-oriented and enjoyed spending time with her two nephews and four nieces. Jennifer was always the "cool aunt" and the "cool mom." She was always a reliable shoulder to lean on for all of her family and friends and was always there to laugh or cry with. Jennifer was a devoted daughter and spent almost every evening with her parents and daughter sharing a family meal. Jennifer had an infectious smile that could brighten any room. She had a spitfire personality and was known for her spontaneity.
Jennifer was the oldest of three daughters born to Joseph and Renate Wiley of Milford. She is survived by her daughter, Eva; both parents; her sister, Kristin Walters and her husband, Darrell Walters of Milford; and sister, Jessica Clukey and her husband, Joshua Clukey of Milford. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Inge Marvel and her husband, John Marvel of Lincoln; and her paternal grandmother, Mary Wiley of Lincoln; nephews, Quinn and Joseph Walters; and nieces, Lily Wiley, Emma Wiley, Reagan Walters, and Ella Clukey. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Wiley; and maternal grandfather, James Pase.
Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 SE Front St., Milford, officiated by Rev. Dr. Paul Isaacs, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 2 p.m. Services will begin promptly at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations towards Eva's college fund on the GoFundMe site at https://www.gofundme.com/eva-college-fund.

Joe, Renate and Ava, Words can never express the deep sorry your family is now faced with. Jen's greatest asset was that she related so easily to others and opened her heart eagerly to all. We were blessed to meet with her on many occasions over the past few years as we looked to invest in a beach property with proceeds from my fathers estate. My father and son both left us suddenly and Jen's empathy for our loss was such a comfort. Jen understood how important it was for me to find a property that would continue my fathers legacy by giving family a much needed retreat. She seemed to understand that this step was also a huge leap forward for me to believe that I could once again look toward the future and not so much what I lost. I know the pain of losing a child in an instant and your family will always be in our hearts and prayers. I hope and pray you will find strength thru your faith, family and friends. It was our honor to know your daughter and her daughter and feel just a little part of their family.

My Heart breaks for you, parents should not have to endure this tragedy. I pray the comfort and support of family and friends, along with your faith give you strength through each day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We will continue to pray for the entire Wiley family in hopes that they will find comfort In the lord

John 14:1-4 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
