M. Wenk Obituary

DENTON, Md. - M. Eloise Wenk died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. Born in Pisgah, Md. in Charles County, Dec. 22, 1919, Mrs. Wenk was the daughter of the late Carroll Berkley Wedding, Sr. and Irene Violet Fones Wedding. Her husband, Charles Eugene Wenk, Sr., died Aug. 23, 1988. Mrs. Wenk lived in many places on the Eastern Shore of Md. and Va. before settling in Denton in 1952. She volunteered for many years at the Samaritan House in Denton and was a member of the Greensboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Wenk is survived by three daughters, Patricia W. Collins of Easton, Md., Mary W. Mears and her husband Carl N. of Dover, Del., and Julia W. Hamilton and her husband Glen of Spring Lake, N.C.; one son, Robert C. Wenk and his wife Diane of Goldsboro, Md.; seven grandchildren, Richard Wroten, Theresa Frye, Charles Hamilton, Paul Hamilton, Carl D. Mears, Ruth Ann Sirman, and Carol Trice; five great-grandchildren, Paul Frye, Matthew Frye, Mandy Wroten, Katie Sirman, and Ashley Mears Hickman; daughter-in-law, Bessie Wenk of Bridgeville, Del.; son-in-law, Bob H. Collins of Cleveland, Ohio; five brothers, Carroll B. Wedding, Jr., David Wedding, William Wedding, Ronald Wedding, and Harold Wedding; and one sister, Eleanor Coulby. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy May Wenk; a son, Charles E. Wenk, Jr.; three brothers, Carroll W. Wedding, Kossie B. Wedding, and John E. Wedding; and five sisters, Mabel Garner, Lillian Wedding, Thelma Wedding, Viola Wedding, and Irene Buchanan. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, Md. where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in the Greensboro Cemetery. The family suggests that instead of sending gifts to the funeral home in Mrs. Wenk's memory, for friends to please send memorial donations to The Samaritan House, 12 N. Fifth St., Denton, MD 21629.
