Matthew Gonzales Obituary
Mr. Gonzales was born August 12, 1982 in Wilmington, Delaware to Kirk Francis Gonzales and Catherine Ann Garbutt Gonzales.
Two of the proudest moments of Matt's life were the birth of his twin daughters and becoming an iron worker at the Local 401 in Philadelphia. He grew up in Newark, and followed in his father's footsteps, joining the iron workers union in 2013 in Philadelphia, PA; and went on to become a journeyman iron worker. Mr. Gonzales attended St Elizabeth Ann Seton church where he and his wife, Krystle were married; his daughters were also baptized there. He was a boxing enthusiast and loved animals.
He was welcomed into heaven by Benjamin Hendrickson (step father) and Ira Garbutt (maternal grandfather).
He will be forever loved by his wife, Krystle Nicole Nguyen Gonzales; twin daughters, Madisyn Caroline and Kennedy Luc Gonzales; his mother Catherine Hendrickson; his father and stepmother Kirk and Susan Gonzales; Father in law Minh Nguyen; maternal grandmother Caroline Brandner; brother Kirk Gonzales Jr and significant other Shaney Gallaher; brother Jason Gonzales; sister Lindsay Hendrickson and significant other Luis Dyer; Step Siblings Kelly and wife Amber Ricketts; Jody & husband Steve Digerness; Steven and wife Stacy Ricketts; and his nieces and nephews; Jazzy, Sebastian, Hailey, Quinton, Liam, Ethan, Lachlan, Vincent, and Gunner.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday January 26th, at St. Elizabeth Ann-Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701-1048 (visitation prior will be TBD). Immediately following the service, there will be a potluck reception at the Elkton Moose Lodge, located at 71 Cherry Hill Rd, Elkton, Maryland 21921.

Matchew , oh man so many good times we had... from giving me my first skateboard on a trade and sparking a lifelong passion with the hobby I still love to growing up in the neighborhood , I'll never forget when you came to the beach with us for the weekend and you fell in the lagoon when we were crabbing, through showing me how to solve problems fairly and end up better friends after with the person than before, through the Mclovin days, seeing you turn a negative situation into the most positive thing a man can ever do and being a good father you were always there like a brother to me I hope your at peace my friend I'll forever hold you close.
