Nicholas Maroudas, 76
HOUSTON - Nicholas Maroudas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Friday 15, 2022. Nicholas was born to the late Hippocrates and Sophia (Sgouros) Maroudas on May 29, 1945 in Gary Indiana.
He attended Lew Wallace High School until the age of 17 when he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at Dover Air Force Base where he met his wife of 57 years, June Buarque. Nicholas went on to serve in the Vietnam War for two years. After his return, he worked for American Honda, U.S. Suzuki, Martin Dealerships and Baltimore Aircoil where he retired from in 2007.
Nicholas enjoyed spending time with his family, drinking coffee with the guys at McDonald's, woodworking, attending classic car shows and, of course, his trains. Anyone who knew Nick, knew his love for Trains. He was also a member of the Milford V.F.W. Post 6483.
In addition to his parents; Nicholas was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Peter Maroudas; his brother-in-law, Francis Arthurs; and his sister-in-law, Linda Maroudas.
He is survived by his loving wife, June; his daughters, Holly Gebhart (Michael), Nicole Maroudas (Craig Mullins), and Noelle Davis (Robert); his grandchildren, Paige Gebhart, Ashton Gebhart, Olivia Mullins and Emory Davis; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Arthurs and Susan Moroudas; nieces and nephews; and his closest friend, Emmett Venett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Delaware Hospice, the nurses and aids, the Home Health Nurses and especially to Tiffany Joseph, R.N. for going above and beyond.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call after 12 p.m. Interment will be held at Milford Community Cemetery. Milford.
