Phyllis Blackiston Obituary

GALENA, Md. - Phyllis K. Blackiston, 65 of Galena, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at home. Mrs. Blackiston was born on September 4, 1946 in Beckley, W.Va., daughter of the late Cleamon M. and Mary Evans Kincaid. At the age of 12 she along with her family moved to Kent County. Phyllis worked at Kitty's Nursing Home in Sudlersville and also did private duty care. She was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church, Millington. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William F. Blackiston in 2004; two brothers, Willis and Calvin Kincaid; and two sisters, Trilla Coleman and Regina Kincaid. She is survived by her sons, William F. Blackiston, Jr. and his wife Donna of Millington, and Mark Blackiston and his wife April, with whom she lived; six siblings, Delbert Kincaid of Chestertown, Betty Smith and Kathleen Melvin both of Smyrna, Del., Beulah Clough and her husband Charles of Sudlersville, Darrell Kincaid and his wife Linda of Greenwood, Del. and Linda LePore of Marydel; a brother-in-law, Arthur Lee Coleman of Sudlersville; her sister-in-law, Lucy McGinnes and her husband William of Crumpton; six grandchildren, Nicole Blackiston, Trisha Lipscomb, Dustin Lipscomb, Lyndsey Blackiston, Colby Elburn and Luke Blackiston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where funeral service will be 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 252, Millington, MD, 21651. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com
