Sue Urian Obituary
She was born on Nov. 11, 1929, in Dover, the daughter of the late Joel and Hazel Ridley of Cheswold.
Sue was an avid bowler and was a life member of the Smyrna-Clayton VFW Auxiliary, Post 8801, where she served as past President. She was an inductee of the Delaware Bowlers Women's Association (DBWA) Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Urian worked for over 40 years for Rothwell's Granary in Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence "Pud" Urian; her brothers, Joel Ridley, Jr. and James Ridley; and her sister, Ruth Ridley.
Sue is survived by her two sons, John Urian and his wife Arlene of Florida, and Ed Urian and his wife Rita of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her two daughters, Kathryn Urian of Clayton, and Susan McClements and her husband Alan of Smyrna; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Ridley, Fred Ridley, and Douglas Ridley; her sister, Martha Collins; and many extended family members.
A viewing will be offered on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the VFW Auxiliary, Post 8801, 4947 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
