John Booe Obituary

John W. Booe, 79, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Gnaw Bone, Indiana. Born on January 4, 1945, John grew up in Indiana, graduating from Thomas Carr Howe High School before heading off to Ivy Tech for more schooling.

John was a master mechanic at Jerry Alderman Ford, where his skills and hard work made a big impact. He was also an entrepreneur at heart, buying his first property in Brown County in 1976 and starting the Brown Bounty Sawmill. Over the next 40 years, he provided top-notch lumber and eventually developed the land by building homes.

When he wasn't working, John loved to stay busy with his hobbies. He had a passion for cars, woodworking, snow skiing, and riding motorcycles and SxS vehicles in Colorado. He also loved traveling and making memories with his friends.

John is survived by his son, Aaron Booe, a brother, as well as a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Booe Sr., and his mother, Dortha Booe, and sister Ann Booe.

John will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for adventure, and his dedication to his family and friends. His impact can still be felt in the many projects he started and the lives he touched.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) from 11:00am-12:00pm, with a memorial service following at 12:00pm.
