Brett Michael Carlson, 30, of Wyanet, Illinois passed away Monday. July 11, 2022.
He was born January 31, 1992 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Lynn (Eric) Olds and Michael (Jeannie) Carlson.
He is survived by his parents: Lynn (Eric) Olds of Wyanet and Michael (Jeannie) Carlson of Mineral; three sisters: Cassidy Olds of Wyanet, Haley Eble of Kewanee, and Jessie Witte of Sheffield; grandparents: John and Linda Carlson of Mineral, Marty Henry of Atkinson, Max (Donita) Olds of Wyanet, and Ted Payne of New Castle, Pennsylvania; one great-grandma, Marilyn Olds of Wyanet; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Alice E. Henry and Judy Huckelberry Conrad, one cousin Andrew Redecker, and one uncle, Tobi Britton.
Brett graduated from Bureau Valley High School with the Class of 2010.
He worked with his grandpa on heating and cooling in Mineral for several years until his grandpa's retirement. Then he began working at Culligan in Wyanet and was proud of the company and the people he worked with.
Despite his own struggles, Brett was a loving generous person. He would frequently surprise his family members with gifts as tokens of love. He had a big smile and a huge heart. Brett loved fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his cousins, Owen and Oliver. His favorite thing to do was to hang out with his sister, Cassidy, who was also his best friend, and her friends. We are eternally grateful for the people who loved and supported Brett.
A visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Burial will take place in Mineral Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zachary Payne, Lucas Payne, Owen Stabler, Oliver Stabler, Conner Alter, and Austen Williams.
Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue Unit.
