Princeton - Brian Edgar Husted, born on August 15, 1947, passed away on November 2, 2024, in Princeton, Illinois. He was the beloved son of Richard Wayne Husted and Isabel Catherine (Sabatini) Husted.
Born in Princeton, IL he would graduate from Dundee Community High School in Carpentersville, IL in 1966. After high school graduation he joined the United States Navy where he was stationed on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. Once honorably discharged, he attended the Bemidji State University where he earned his teaching degree. Also going onto post graduate studies, eventually receiving his Master's Degree.
On July 14, 1996, Brian married Jill Grover in Hampshire, Illinois, beginning a journey filled with love and companionship. He built a fulfilling career in education. Starting as a teacher in District 300 where he also worked through the ranks and eventually becoming the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Hampshire, IL. until his retirement. His dedication to learning and nurturing young minds was deeply felt by his colleagues and students alike.
In his younger years, Brian had a passion for horses and even owned racehorses, finding joy in the thrill and spirit of these majestic animals. Later in life, he turned his attention to his garden and spent hours tinkering in the garage, where he enjoyed creating and fixing with his hands.
Family was at the heart of Brian's life, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. Known for his warmth, wisdom, and generosity, Brian will be remembered for his dedication to family, his passion for education, and his ever-curious mind.
Survived by his children, Jessica Brayfield of Princeton, IL, and Paul Berger, of Modesto, CA; his several grandchildren, Alexis O'Connor (Boochi Kashinkunti) of Chicago, IL, Jack O'Connor of Princeton, IL, Mark O'Connor (Angela Claus) of Princeton, IL, Maximus Wilborn of Princeton, IL, Enzo Berger of Modesto, CA, Stella Berger of Modesto, CA, Lucca Berger of Modesto, CA, and Arya Kashinkunti of Chicago, IL; and his great-granddaughter, Claire O'Connor of Princeton, IL. Also, his sister Isabel (Bunny)(Charles) Hughes of Park Ridge, IL and his brother Jack Husted of Pelham, AL. Brian also has 10 nieces and nephews that love him very much.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Jill Husted, his parents, Richard and Isabel Husted, and three brothers, Rick, Lee, and Mark Husted.
Brian Edgar Husted leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a lifetime of cherished memories that will be carried forward by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
