Edward F. Duffy

PRINCETON – Edward F. Duffy, 84, of Princeton, formerly of Ohio, IL, died on Sunday, September 21st at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Edward was born on January 29, 1941, in Dixon to Edwin and Mary (Hannan) Duffy. He married Rosemary Kemper on August 3, 1968, in Ohio, Illinois. She preceded him in death.
He lived most of his life in Ohio, Illinois, where he graduated high school in 1959. He loved his community and was involved in many organizations. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he was an altar boy and later an usher, co-taught CCD, and prepared the monthly fellowship breakfast for all. He served as president of the Ohio Grade School Board of Education, was a volunteer firefighter, member and President of the Booster Club, and was the scorebook keeper for the Ohio Boys Basketball team for 35 years.
He worked at Sisler's Dairy for 47 years, most of that time as a delivery driver. He was known in many communities throughout the area for his laugh and unparalleled work ethic. When not at work, he could be found at one of his daughters or grandchild's athletic games or concerts, or patrolling the Village of Ohio as an unofficial policeman. He enjoyed going for walks, gardening, puttzing around the house, decorating homes and cookies for Christmas, and spending time with his large family. He bled purple and gold until the day he died.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Deb Duffy of Princeton, Phyllis Duffy of Tiskilwa, Erin Duffy (Chuck Adams) of Tiskilwa, Megan Duffy of Ohio, and Duanna Duffy of Ohio; his grandchildren, Miguel Austin (Hannah Isaacson), Nathaniel Duffy, Isaiah (Courtney) Austin, Matthew Underwood, Alec Lappin (Gertie Savitch), Mary Underwood, and Logan Duffy; his great-grandchildren, Jakobi, Juliette, Katarina, Kylo, and Kyzen; numerous extended family members; and special lifelong friend, Connie Allen of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Mary; and his parents.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 9 to 11 a,m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Austin Bosse officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ohio.
