Jerry Taulbee Obituary

Jerry Wayne Taulbee
Born: February 22, 1949 in Chicago, IL
Died: May 10, 2025 in Sheffield, IL
Sheffield - Jerry Wayne Taulbee, 76, of Sheffield, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving and devoted extended family.
Born on February 22, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Jerry was the son of the late William and Edith (Williams) Taulbee. After graduating high school, he proudly joined the United States Army and served his country with honor during the Vietnam War-an experience that shaped his strength, resilience, and deep appreciation for life.
On November 30, 2010, in Bureau County, Jerry married the love of his life, Cindy Felish Warren. Their 14 years of marriage were filled with laughter, devotion, and a shared love for family, animals, and the simple joys of life.
Jerry was a master carpenter by trade and a craftsman by heart. His hands built more than structures-they built a legacy of hard work, integrity, and pride. He had a gift for working with wood and a passion for creating things that would last, just like the relationships he forged throughout his life.
Jerry had a deep and special bond with animals, especially his beloved horses. He found peace and purpose in caring for them, and they brought him immeasurable joy. Those who knew Jerry also knew he had a love for music-he was known to take the mic at karaoke nights, singing "oldies but goodies" with a voice full of soul and heart.
More than anything, Jerry cherished time spent with his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was being surrounded by the people he loved most-laughing, sharing stories, and creating memories that will live on for generations.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his six children: Jerry Jr. (Marguerite), Brenda, Jennifer, Pam, Danny, and Kim; his cherished grandchildren: Julia, Malcolm, Maggie, Allison, Gavin, Brendan, Arabella, Dillon, Declan, Ziggy, Elliot, Edison, Vincent, Jimmy, Danielle, Mary, and Paul; and great-grandchildren: Everlee, Jack, Isaac, Ivy, and Steven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Taulbee; his brother, Toby Taulbee; and three sisters, Pat, Joann, and Debbie.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sheffield Community Building, 121 South Church Street, Sheffield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause dear to Jerry's heart.
