Matthew Miller Obituary

Matthew Scott Miller
Born: January 23, 1969 in Princeton, IL
Died: April 15, 2025 in Princeton, IL
The family of Matthew Scott Miller (Manlius, IL), is saddened to announce his passing on April 15th, 2025, at the age of 56. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Matt can attest to his ability to light up the room with hoots & howls, a raunchy comment sprinkled in, followed by a deep laugh. He is the epicenter of many one-of-a-kind memories. He had a heart of gold, and is going to be missed immensely.
Born January 23rd 1969 to Vernon "Kaye" Miller and Penny Jones (Last), Matt spent his younger years working at different rock quarries, his favorite being the Benesh's in Oregon, IL. Matt eventually returned to his family farm in Manlius, where he spent the remainder of his life working laps around everyone else. His knowledge and pride of farming was evident in his finished work; it truly was a sight to see.
Matt married his love, Belinda "Beans" Allicks, on October 3rd 2002. They shared a 22-year-long commitment and understanding of one another that is rarely seen. Their love was clear as day, and will live in the walls and ground of the farm long after their physical presence.
Matt loved his children with every bit of his soul. He led them on many fishing and morel mushroom hunting adventures. Matt instilled his sense of humor in his children, and they will carry his love for them in their hearts forever. We love you dad.
Matt is survived by his wife Belinda Miller of Manlius, IL; four children, Lucas (Kali) Miller of Harvard, IL, Chloe (Jeremy) Turner of MS, Anthony and Nathaniel Miller both of Manlius, IL; three grandchildren, Autum Niedziela, Joseph Niedziela, Syluh Turner; his mother, Penny Jones; five siblings, Christine Bohms of Oregon, IL, Timothy Miller of Sheffield, IL, Carrie Carpenter of Rockford, IL, Janelle (Mike) Smith of Sheffield, and Thomas (Chelsea) Jones of Oregon, IL; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Niedziela; his father, Kaye Miller; step-father, Marlin Jones; paternal grandparents, Virgil and Billy Miller and maternal grandparents, Earl and Kathryn Last.
A visitation will be held from 11:00am-12:30pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL. A private graveside service will be in Mineral Township Cemetery with Pastor Terry Lancaster officiating. Burial will immediately follow the services.
In lieu of flowers Matt's family would like you to plant a tree in his memory.
