William "Bud" Schabow

William A. Schabow, 93, passed away on August 3, 2023 in McHenry, IL. William was born on February 04, 1930 in Chicago, IL to parents William and Rose Schabow. He married his beloved wife, Doris Oeffling on February 3, 1951 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, IL.
Bill worked for Illinois Bell for 30 years before owning his own business, Bill's Electric, for 35+ years. Bill was very active in many groups including: Knights of Columbus, McHenry Moose Lodge, and Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed bowling, golf, billiards, and horseshoes. He loved to sing and was a part of St. Mary Catholic Church's Choir for 50+ years. He loved spending time and having parties with his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife: Doris Schabow; his children: Joann (Isaac) Held, Deb Schabow, Bob (Pam) Schabow, and Pattie (Bob) Lunkenheimer; his grandchildren: Josh (Susan) Held, Chris (Nicole) Schabow, Sarah Schabow, Kay Lunkenheimer, and John (Nicole) Lunkenheimer; and his great-grandchildren: Taylor, Mya, Lexa, Trayce, and Morgan.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents: William and Rose Schabow; and his sister: Rosanne Gartner.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, IL from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A continued Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church in McHenry, IL from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Mass will start at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary Cemetery in McHenry, IL.
