Sheffield - William Michael Stier, affectionately known as Mike, Calhoun by his classmates, and Budrow by friends and family, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2024, at the Allure of Walnut Nursing Home in Walnut, Illinois. He was 74 years old.
Born on October 18, 1950, in Kewanee, Illinois, Mike was the son of Garfield and Ollie (Spratt) Stier. He graduated from Western High School, Class of 1968.
Mike married, Deborah 'Deb' Kuepker, on February 23, 1992, in Sheffield, Illinois. Together, they built a life, rooted in family and community.
A lifelong farmer, Mike was deeply connected to the land and the rhythms of rural life. In addition to his farming life, Mike was an active member of several local organizations, including the Sheffield Lions Club, Sheffield Legion, Sheffield Town Board and the Sheffield Fire Department.
Mike had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He loved fishing and he enjoyed attending farm auctions, where he could always find something new to spark his interest. Gardening was another hobby, and his green thumb was evident in the vibrant plants and
