Jerry DeLoach Obituary

CALUMET, Mich. - Jerry Dale DeLoach, 76, died peacefully Nov. 25, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife and children.
Jerry was born Nov. 8, 1945, to Ula Barnhill and Clayton DeLoach of DeLand.
He is survived by his wife, Kay DeLoach of Calumet; nine children, Nikki and Jay Perkinson of Kincheloe, Michigan, Tommy Compton and Chelan Compton, both of Calumet, Ruth Compton, Kassia Compton and Christopher DeLoach, all of DeLand, Tony and Becca Vurchio of Gainesville, Georgia, Maria DeLoach of Colorado, and Clayton DeLoach of Madison, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Victor Avillaneda, Darian Avillaneda and Brenden Avillaneda, whom he raised and loved like his own children; and two great-grandchildren.
Jerry graduated from DeLand High School, Class of 1964.
He joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country 1964-69.
Jerry was a bakery manager at Publix for 25 years.
In 2001, he married Kay Logan, whom he lovingly referred to as the love of his life.
Jerry retired to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 2007, where he spent his time going on adventures with his wife and three grandchildren.
He was the heart and soul of his family. He was so kind and compassionate and steady. He made us all laugh until we cried. He would do anything for anyone, especially his wife.
Jerry was the definition of chivalrous, and tried every day to be a good man and husband.
