Ken Parslow Obituary

DELAND - Ken Parslow, 83, died Aug. 22, 2024. A celebration of his life will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, for his family and friends to gather and remember him with their favorite memories.
Born Dec. 9, 1940, in Miami, Ken moved to this area in 1973 from his birthplace.
He graduated from North Miami High School Class of 1959.
Ken served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise (CVAN 65) for four years. He was a plank owner.
He worked as a shift engineer and a control center operator.
A Catholic, Ken was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He also was a member of the National Rifle Association and various car clubs. His interests included old cars, Stetson baseball, Little League and men's softball.
Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; son Cole Parslow (Marjorie) of DeLeon Springs; daughter Shelley Parslow Dougal (Rick) of Port Orange; sister Sarah Parslow of DeLand; grandchildren Hayley Ann Calvo (Joey), Rhett Parslow (Payge), Rick Dougal (Anne Fleming) and Chase Parslow (Samantha St. Jean); great-grandson Walker Parslow; and nephew Robert Lightholder and his wife, Tondra, and children Dominic and Brandon.
