JOYCE HANNEL

JOYCE HANNEL Joyce Bernice Stoneking Hannel, 95 and a half, of Arenzville, passed away Friday January 10, 2025, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born July 10, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of William Henry and Stella Mae Stoneking. She married William Orvil Hannel on January 30th, 1993, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Patty (deceased husband Mike) Stinson , Anita Glydewell; one son, Lloyd Glydewell; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. As a young girl Joyce and her brother Billy were raised by their Grandparents John and Emma Stoneking, in Memphis, Missouri. Prior to her late husband William, Joyce was married to Ed Glydewell, having three lovely daughters, Sue (deceased), Patty, and Anita. Joyce and Ed also brought their nephew Lloyd home from the hospital, and raised him as their son. Joyce was a woman of great love and care. She adored her family, and loved to spend time with them. Joyce spent many years working as the unit secretary at St Mary's Hospital, and as a C.N.A. Joyce had also worked at the Beardstown glove factory, was the past president of the Arenzville American Legion, and devoted a lot of time to the Bread of Love. A burial will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Arenzville, where Joyce was a long time member. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Arenzville, or Cass-Schuyler Hospice. Sager Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
