Becky S. Whitehead, 60, of Beatrice passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024 on her 60th birthday at her home after her battle with cancer. She was born on May 4, 1964 in Waco, TX where she graduated from Conley High School. She moved to Sterling in the 80's and then moved to Beatrice to a small acreage. Becky worked at Black Hills Energy for 25 years. During her time there, she filled a variety of roles, from working in the contact center, Field Resource Center, Executive Administration Assistant, Project Manager, and most recently as the Beatrice Operations Supervisor before retiring in 2022. She also worked as a dispatcher at the Beatrice Police Department part time. After retiring in 2022, she followed her dream of becoming her own boss and started a very successful business called Bottle Creek Napkins selling napkins, rice paper, and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, making crafts and watching her business grow. In recent years, she was a CASA volunteer, dedicating over 150 hours to helping children in the Beatrice community.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney Whitehead of Beatrice; two daughters, Stevie Thies of Beatrice and Brandy (Thies) Block and husband Justin of Beatrice; four grandchildren, Bostin Block, Lincoln Harker, Ellis Block, and Sybelle Harker; brother, Eddie Ferrill of Dallas, TX; sister, Angie Brown and husband Glen of McGregor, TX; mother-in-law, Marge Whitehead of Holmesville; sister-in-law, Crystal Haecker and husband Kolin of Louisville; many nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Ray and Agnes Elizabeth (Hinson) Ferrill; brother, Berney Lee Ferrill; father-in-law, Eldon Whitehead; many aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Christ Community Church with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. on Monday at the church. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to CASA of Gage County www.foxfuneralhome.net Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.
