Erik W. Spilker, 52 of Beatrice, passed away Sunday evening, October 5, 2025, at the Beatrice Community Hospital. He was born on January 6, 1973, at Beatrice Lutheran Hospital to Steven and Toni (Lomax) Spilker. He grew up on the family farm Northwest of Beatrice. Erik attended Tri-County; participated in wrestling, basketball, golf, and the YMCA swim team and graduated in 1991. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic- Hydraulic (AM) for four years. On February 23, 2015, he married Wendee Wieden.

He worked for a roofing company for many years before joining Neapco, and most recently enjoyed his career as a machinist with Landoll. Despite all of his achievements, Erik's greatest joys were his family, especially his grandkids, friends and his hobbies. Erik enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, hunting, playing board games, and trying new recipes on the smoker. He especially loved watching Husker volleyball and sharing all these moments with his best friend and wife. He also was a very proud member of Catfish Crazy Nebraska for the past 8 years.

Survivors include his wife, Wendee Spilker of Beatrice; daughters, Carlie (Jason) Pohlmeier of Lawrence, Abbee Buss of Plymouth and Allee Jo Wieden and special friend Andrew of Wymore; sons: Joey Watson of Beatrice, Ricky Watson and special friend Kayla of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Emberlee, Kaysee, Jupiter, Heavenly, Madelyn, Oaklee, Phoenix, Hudsyn, and Briggs; parents, Steven and Toni Spilker of Missouri; sister, Dawn (Scott) Balvin of Beatrice; nephew, Chase Spilker and son Cash of Beatrice, mother-in-law, JoAnn Wieden of Wymore; brother-in-law, Willie Wieden of Wymore; sister-in-law, Jodi (Chris) Meints of Blue Springs. And many more extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Spilker, Marvin Lomax, Orville and Erna Wittler; father-in-law, William Wieden.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor James Anderson officiating. The family invites those attending the service to dress in casual attire. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. on Friday at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery of Beatrice with military rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. The body will lie in state on Thursday from noon until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
