Harold Gene Kreiensieck, 81 of Beatrice, died Saturday Aug. 21, 2010 at the Beatrice Manor.
He was born at home 5 1?4 miles NW of Hanover, Kan. Nov. 5, 1928 to Henry and Talke (Rosenbaum) Kreiensieck.
He attended Kreiensieck Country School 1?4 mile from home. He loved horses and farmed with them with his father. He rode and broke horses to work and ride.
Harold worked with his family on their farm until his marriage to Evelyn Luehring Feb. 20, 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church of Hanover, Kan. They were married 61 years. Two daughters were born to this union, Debra Ann and Beverly Kay. They farmed 6 1?2 miles north of Hanover for 12 years and 2 years west of Marysville, Kan. They had a sale in 1963 and managed a farm for Dr. Rice north of Barneston. Dr. Rice died after 5 months and they moved to Beatrice. Harold was employed at Behrens Construction and Dempsters. He retired in 1984 due to his health and started a saw sharpening business at home.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Beatrice; daughters, Debra Doehling and husband Mark of Surprise; Beverly K.K. Robinson and husband Jo Ed of Beatrice; three grandchildren, Dustin and John-Michael Robinson of Beatrice, Christina Doehling of Surprise; one sister, Henrietta McDonald of Ellsworth, Kan; one sister-in-law, Julie Kreiensieck of Boise, Idaho; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Talke (Rosenbaum) Kreiensieck; three brothers, Charles, Ernest, and Henry Kreiensieck.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9th and Elk Street, Beatrice, with Pastor Tom Sahl officiating.
There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, Kan.
A memorial has been established to Aseracare Hospice in lieu of flowers with Mortuary in charge. Visitation will be at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Monday from 4-9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. and then at the church on Tuesday one hour preceding the services.
