Harold Walter Witulski
Harold Walter Witulski passed on to heavenly joy on November 20, 2023, at age 93. He was born June 18, 1930, to Albert and Ella (Kaltenbach) Witulski. He attended Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1947. He later went to college in various schools, including taking electronics at Milford. Harold was in the Army from 1952-1954. After military, he farmed with his parents and cared for them in their later years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion. He was very talented at woodworking and invented many useful machines on his farm. He collected and rebuilt about 40 antique tractors, driving them in parades. He played several string instruments, made dulcimers, entertained at nursing homes, Homestead Days, and enjoyed traveling. For several years he received loving care from the staff at Good Samaritan Care Center.
On December 26, 1964, Harold married Lillian (Kresha) Kosch, a widow with 4 young children, and enjoyed their farm life. After 38 good years, she passed away. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lee and wife Marjorie; brother, Charles; brother-in-law, Harry Trepka; great-grandson, Brandon O'Brien, and 2 miscarried babies. He is survived by his children, Marcie Etter (Murl), Mary O'Brien (Tom), Leon Kosch (Sharon), and Larry Kosch (Diane); his sister, Alice Trepka, and sister-in-law, Betty Witulski, 11 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by good friend, Marlene Durman, and many other friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beatrice with Father Joseph Faulkner as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice with military rites conducted by Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the Beatrice American Legion and the Nebraska Army National Guard Honor Guard. The body will lie in state on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from noon until 8:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home. A Scriptural Rosary will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday at Fox Funeral Home.
