Death
Helen Elize Scheve, 87, Lincoln, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. She was born Feb. 18, 1917, near Jansen, the daughter of Henry and Agatha (Brott) Scheve. She was a graduate of Beatrice High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and received a Masters degree in administration and supervision from Colorado State. She taught vocational home economics in Nebraska and Kansas. While in Kansas, she was the state supervisor of home economics. In Madison, Wis., she was employed at the State Board of Vocational, Technical and Adult education as a consultant in occupational training program on the post secondary level. In 1986, she received the Ruth Gordon Service Club Award in Madison. She had been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lincoln, since 1992.
Survivors: brother, Robert Scheve Sr. and wife Lois of Lincoln; nieces and nephews, Carol Yung of Camarillo, Calif., John Scheve of Marietta, Ohio, James Moore, Tom Moore, both of Franklin, Robert Scheve Jr. of Firth, Cindy Sinagra of San Pedro, Calif., Debbie Scheve of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Agatha (Brott) Scheve; brother, John Scheve; sisters, Ella Bloodgood, Hertha Mathers, Edna Moore, Marie Scheve, Waldemar Scheve.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 S. 33rd St., Lincoln, Pastor Mark Ebert officiating. Cremation; no viewing or visitation. Private family inurnment: Zion Lutheran Church, Harbine, Neb. Memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Diabetes Association. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln, in charge of arrangements.
