Kevin D. Naber

December 11, 1950 - June 27, 2025

Kevin D. Naber, 74, of Beatrice, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 11, 1950, at Oakland to Fred and Audrey (Schroeder) Naber. He graduated from Logan View High School in 1969 and from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a master's degree in finance in 1976. He served his country in the United States Marines Reserves from 1971-76. Kevin married Jackie Ullsperger on May 10, 1975, at the Lutheran Student Chapel on the University of Nebraska, Lincoln campus. He began his career with ASCS/ USDA and worked for 36 years before retiring in 2011. In the 90's he began his role as a District Director for the USDA in southeast Nebraska. Kevin also farmed part-time. He was a member of Early Risers Kiwanis Club, founding member of Beatrice Toastmasters, Harness Hustlers Driving Club, Nebraska Draft Horse Association, Christ Lutheran Church of Beatrice, former Teammate Mentor, and a leader of the Homestead Riders 4-H Club.

Kevin bred, raised and trained Clydesdale horses for parades, rides and showing them at fairs. His special love was to demonstrate horsedrawn farm equipment. Kevin also loved Huskers sports, especially women's basketball. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's activities and had a special affinity for apple pie and chocolate ice cream.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Naber of Beatrice; daughters, Jennifer (Rodney) Dillon of Gilbert, AZ, Jill Lottman and special friend Tyler Trauernicht of Kansas City, MO, and Jamie (Charles) Brewer of Lincoln; grandchildren, Olivia and Layla Dillon, Ashlen, Eden, Madelyn and Valerie Lottman and Jada, Kiyah, AJ, and Kamran Brewer of; sister, Sandra Langemeier of Lincoln; brothers, Donnelly Naber of Colorado Springs, CO Keith (Loretta) Naber of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Harlan Ullsperger; nieces, nephews, and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Audrey Naber; parents-in-law, Leo and Agnes Ullsperger and brother-in-law, David Langemeier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth with Pastor Justin Dauck officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery of Beatrice. A family prayer service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church. The body will lie in state on Wednesday from noon until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
