Martha "Marty" Ann Seymour

BEATRICE - Martha "Marty" Ann Seymour, 70 years old, of Beatrice, Nebraska passed away on March 11, 2024.
Marty was born on April 11, 1953, to Ben and Lorretta Franks in Anne Arbor, Michigan. Marty was raised as an only child in Mansfield Ohio. She spent many summers and holidays visiting her aunts, uncles and cousins on their farms in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She loved visiting her family on the farm. One of her favorite activities was riding the horses and spending time with all the animals. This started her lifelong passion of taking care of animals.
She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Mansfield where she picked up her love for reading and books, she Graduated from Madison High School. After High School Marty married Joseph "Joe" Seymour on July 2nd, 1971 and went on to have 2 children with Joe, her daughters Amanda Seymour 01/28/1972 and Gwendolyn Seymour born 06/01/1977 Marty and Joe moved to Nebraska approximately 1976, she has called Nebraska home since moving there.
Marty worked for Beatrice State Developmental Center for over 30 years, launching a lifelong career in Social Services. Marty finished her career at Beatrice Police department as a victim's advocate. Where she worked until November 2023. She was well respected in her field and would do everything she could to assist her clients and families.
Marty graduated from University of Nebraska Lincoln May of 1999 with bachelor's in psychology and from Duane College May 2006 with a master's in counseling. Going to college and working full-time job, she was extremely proud to get her degrees and valued education immensely.
Marty was passionate about taking care of people and animals she had a great heart full of kindness and love. She was kind to almost everyone she met through that kindness, she had a knack for making friends (2 and 4 legged) wherever she went. Her favorite hobbies were reading books, riding and grooming her horses, continuing her education, as well as visiting with friends or traveling to visit her daughters.
Marty was predeceased by her parents Ben and Loretta Franks and Ex-husband Joseph Seymour She is survived by her daughters Amanda Seymour and Gwen Seymour, Cousins; Brigid Sullivan, Chris Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Julia Hoeh, Ryan Flynn and Kara Sullivan.
Celebration of Life will be held at St. John Lutheran Church 701 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska 68310, USA on April 12, 2024, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM.

We had a gathering today in Mansfield, Ohio with some of Marty's friends. Had a grand time sharing Marty memories. We also listened to the live celebration of life. She was a great friend.

I knew Marty from Legacy Stables. I always enjoyed her happy and kind personality and was impressed with her dedication to all her animals! She truly cared for all living beings! Such a big heart! So sorry for your loss
