Minnie E. Van Osdol, 104, of Beatrice, died at Parkview Center on Wednesday morning, July 26, 2006. She was born on January 7, 1902, at Boynton, Mo. She attended country school through the eighth grade. She was married to John Moberly in October of 1920. They lived in DeWitt and she worked at Peterson Manufacturing until she moved to Beatrice in the late 1940's. She then married Vernon Van Osdol in 1966 and had lived in Beatrice since that time. She is a former member of the Assembly of God Church of Beatrice. Her hobbies included sewing, handwork and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Tromburg and husband Owen of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Lucille Zakostelsky and husband George of Salina, Kan. One stepson, Robert Van Osdol and wife Evelyn of Lincoln. Seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Price Blythe; her first husband John Moberly; her second husband Vernon, who died on September 6, 1991; one son Russell Moberly; three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006, at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Rev. David A. Bigley officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 8 a.m. Thursday until time of services on Friday.
