Mona Jean Reynolds
Oct. 3, 1957 - Feb. 18, 20245
Mona Jean Reynolds departed from this world on February 18, 2024, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on October 3, 1957, in Rapid City, SD, USA, she was a compassionate soul, dedicated to her family and career, and a pillar of support to those lucky enough to have known her. For Mona, "Family is not an important thing, it's everything," a quote by Michael J. Fox that reflected her values perfectly.
Mona moved to De Witt, NE, in 1997, after spending the early part of her life in Omaha. She was a loving individual who found her calling in Nursing, dedicating 45 years of her life to the profession before retiring from Bryan Health, Lincoln, NE, in 2023. Her dedication to helping people was unwavering, making a profound impact on countless lives.
When not in her scrubs, Mona found joy in being near water, playing computer games, attending concerts and casinos, and adding to her Wizard of Oz memorabilia collection.
She is survived by her children, Sarah Kirchoff of Beatrice and Adam (Kelcey) Reynolds of Omaha, and her beloved grandchildren: Laura Kalkowski, Madison, Jackson and Hudson Kirchoff, and Roman, Cypress, and Ziggy Reynolds. She also leaves behind her siblings: Dawn (Randy) Strouf, Colleen (Brent) Toalson, Jodi (Kevin) Wolfteich, Mitch (Nancy), Bruce (Pam), and Richard (Laura) McDougall. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Mac" and Mary Lou (Erickson) McDougall, her sister, Teresa Wollenburg, and her niece, Connor Wolfteich.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 1:00-8:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 North Quince Street, De Witt, NE, 68341. The family will be greeting friends and family from 4:00-7:00 PM at the same venue. A Family Prayer Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 9:45 AM, followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM. The Celebration of Life Service will also be live-streamed at www.ghchapel.com. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery, DeWitt. A memorial has been established to the family to establish a nursing scholarship in Mona's honor.
In memory of our dear Mona, we encourage friends and family to share their photos and memories of her on the memorial page at www.ghchapel.com. Her compassionate spirit, dedication to her profession, loving nature, and supportive demeanor will forever be remembered.
