Robert Hestermann Obituary

Death

FIRTH - Robert J. Hestermann, 71, Firth, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at the Lakeview Nursing Home in Firth. He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Adams. He was a lifelong Lutheran and was a member of the Church Council at St. John's. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, worked on small John Deere tractors and lawn mowers and was an avid Husker fan.

Survivors: wife, Joan; sons, David and Marge Hestermann of Azle, Texas, Terry and Kathy Hestermann of Council Grove, Kan.; daughters, Deborah and Brad Diner of Little Rock, Ark., LuAnn Hestermann of Omaha; foster son, Charles Thompson and wife Rose of Humbles, Texas; brothers: Marvin and Janice Hestermann of Firth, Eldon and Sharon Hestermann of Eagle; sisters, Delores and Arlo Wittstock of Afton, Iowa, Alyce and Dwight Weiss of Sterling, Martha and John Menard of Hickman, Janice Rosecrans of Phoenix, Ariz., Barbara and John MacKichen of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling, Pastor Doyle Karst officiating. Burial: Sterling Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation time and location: One hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, Vernon and Erma Hazen in charge.
