Robert "Bob" Alan Meints

May 20, 1955 - November 29, 2024

Robert "Bob" Alan Meints, 69 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. He was born on May 20, 1955, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Lloyd and Eula Mae "Judy" (Wieden) Meints. Bob was raised in Beatrice where he attended Paddock Lane Elementary School and graduated from Beatrice High School with the class of 1973. While in high school, Bob participated in gymnastics and track. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. In 1982, Bob started working for the Farm Service Agency as a loan specialist. In 1983, Bob was united in marriage to Joanie Miller. To this union a son, Ryan, was born. The couple would later divorce. On January 1, 2011, Bob was united in marriage to Dottie Thomsen in Hawaii. The couple made their home in Beatrice until Dottie passed away in 2014. Bob was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. He enjoyed going to races at Beatrice Speedway, watching Husker football and volleyball, and keeping his yard in pristine condition. Bob loved to grill, earning the nickname "Grill Master Bob."

Bob is survived by his son, Ryan (Tiffany) Meints, of Milford; stepchildren, John (Lea) Thomsen, of Diller, Linsey (Jarrett) Riegel, of Lincoln and Jackie Gaddy, of Diller; grandchildren, Cooper Meints, Jayden, Easton, and Monroe Thomsen and Mylee Gaddy; brothers, Ronald Meints and Mike (Karen) Meints, both of Beatrice; brothers-in-law, Alan (Caren) Baumfalk, of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Terry (Rhinda) Baumfalk, of Kokomo, Ind.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Renae Koehler officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church's Facebook page. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m., Saturday at the church. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
