William Coffendaffer Obituary

William "Bill" Coffendaffer

May 5, 1953 - February 26, 2026

We come together to celebrate the life of William Edward Coffendaffer, lovingly known as Bill, born on May 5th, 1953 in San Diego, California. Bill was a unique blend of resilience, support, and thoughtfulness. He moved to Wymore over 40 years ago, where he formed a beautiful life with his wife, Eileene (Mowry) Coffendaffer, whom he married on June 9, 1984. An active member of the Wymore community, Bill was a past member and Chief of the Wymore Volunteer Fire Department and worked in several area manufacturing companies before working in maintenance and groundskeeping at Park Lodge in Wymore. He had a love for bicycling, participating in both mountain and road competitions and even ran his own repair shop and store out of his garage.

Bill was always known for his supportive nature and his deep love for his family. Despite health challenges, he continued to live life with unyielding resilience, never allowing his circumstances to define him. Bill lived by the verse, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). He carried this faith into his service at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wymore.

Bill is survived by his wife Eileene of Wymore; daughter, Aleece Coffendaffer of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Bryce and wife Jessica of Bluffdale, Utah and their sons, Owen and Austin; siblings, Patricia Gallagher, Deloris Holthaus, Kenneth (Terry) Coffendaffer, Cena (Rick) Moss; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mildred (Hruska) Coffendaffer.

Funeral services for Bill will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wymore with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Tuesday from 12:00pm to 8:00pm with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation.

We invite you to share your cherished memories of Bill and upload photos to his memorial page at www.ghchapel.com, honoring his life and legacy. There, you may also view his video tribute and service. Let us remember Bill, not just for his resilience and strength, but also for his love for family, his service to the community, and his unwavering faith.
