Alva Delaney "Al" Jorden

Alva Delaney Al Jorden, 69, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on August 30, 1943, to Loma Madero Busby Jorden and Alva Emmett Mike Jorden. Al was a licensed professional jockey and horse trainer. Survivors include his son, Stephen Jones and his wife, Jennifer, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Landon Jones and Travis Jones; brothers, Emmett Edward Jorden, Michael Rhea Jorden, Theodore Jae Jorden, and John David Jorden; and sister, Theresa May Jorden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loma and Alva Mike Jorden; and sister, Lisa Sue Jorden. A memorial service for Mr. Jorden will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
