Bettie Stringer Obituary

Bettie M. Stringer, 86, went home to her Lord, Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was born in Manning, TX on August 2, 1925, to Henry and Lula Marshall. Bettie graduated from South Park High School in 1942 and was married to William P. Stringer, May 2, 1943. In 1984, Bettie graduated from Lamar University with a degree in studio art. Mrs. Stringer is survived by her daughter, Susan Riley and husband, Jay; son Dr. Scott Stringer and wife, Michelle, of Ridgeland, MS; grandchildren, Chris Riley and wife, Rachel, Cortney Bartee and husband, Brandon, Lindsey Stringer and Steve Stringer; great-grand-chil- dren, Jackson and Alice Anne Riley; brothers, Bobby Marshall and wife, Sammy, John Marshall and wife, Jacquelyn, Dr. Don Marshall and wife, Ann; and sister, Peggy Marshall. A celebration of Bettie's life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, June 8, 2012, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Updated information may be found at: OBITSsetx.com and Claybarfuneralhome.com.

Bettie and Bill were our neighbors at the Village Creek Club in Lumberton. We all considered ourselves close friends and neighbors to each other. May she Rest In Peace, our prayers are with her family.

Mrs Stringer took over at Pietzsch when Mrs. Tomblin left. She was so sweet to all of the kids and a real blessing to me. Rest with Jesus Mrs Stringer.
