DeWitt Hutchison Obituary

DeWitt Hutchison, 90, of Kirbyville, Texas died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 10 am Satruday, July 4, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Davis Cemetery in the Beaulah Springs community. Visitation wil be 5:00 to 9:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. A native of Panola County, Texas, he had lived most of his life in Kirbyville and was a retired forman with Trotti-Thompson Construction in Beaumont. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hutchison; a son, Jessie Whittaker; and a brother-in-law, Gaston Worley. Survivors include two sons, R.C. Hutchison & wife Sally of Kirbyville, and Talmadge Hutchison & wife Sandra of Orange; two daughters, Sue Whitten & husband Herman of Mauriceville, and Judy Kirbow and husband Sammy of Kirbyville; a daughter-in-law, Eugenia Whittaker of Kirbyville; brother, Jimmy Hutchison and wife Sue of Kirbyville; two sisters, Idonia McKeithen and husband Eugene of Kirbyville, and Inez Worley of Austin; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Judy, I was so very sorry to hear of your dads passing.I know condolences are never adequate when you lose a parent I just wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers during your time of loss.

I am so saddened to learn of Dewitt's passing. He was a truly good person. The hours I spent with Dewitt, Evelyn and the family are times I cherish and remember with such fondness. Heaven is a richer place because of them. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
