Kenneth Leger Obituary

1941 - 2017 Kenneth Gale Leger, 76, of Beaumont, died Friday, September 1, 2017. He was born on July 29, 1941, to Tressie Wright Leger and Louis Leger, in Beaumont. Kenneth grew up in China and attended China High School where he had many loving friends and family members. He was the oldest of nine children. Kenneth loved and took care of his younger siblings his whole life. He became a Diesel Mechanic when he was in his early twenties and retired from Smart's Truck and Trailer, where he was affectionally known as Pops. Kenneth retired at 65 as the Engine Shop Foreman. Everyone who knew and loved Kenneth knew that his bark was much worse than his bite. He was a very hard worker and avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Leger; one son; one daughter; two stepdaughters; four brothers; two sisters; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son; and two sisters. A gathering of Mr. Leger's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any organization providing relief to local victims of Hurricane Harvey.
