Linda was born on April 3, 1951, in Houston, Texas to Raymond Lee Smith and Sarah Grace (Guthrie) Smith. She passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in Longview, Texas surrounded by her family.

Linda's first love was Jesus and she lived her life to honor Him. Her second love was her Family. She was a loving and dedicated wife for 52 years, devoted mother, and grandmother. She served, with passion, as a Pastor's wife and shined in her part of the ministry. Linda had a beautiful voice and sweet spirit that ministered to so many. She loved to travel with her family especially on our annual vacations to Branson, Mo. Only heaven knows how many lives her life has impacted. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Sarah Smith; brother, Marvin Smith; sisters, Patsy Poole and Lela Bethard; and special brother-in-law, Rex Dahl.

She is survived by her loving family: husband of 52 years, Bishop David E. Taylor; son, David E. Taylor, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Devin Taylor and wife, Ashley; brother and sister-in-law, George and Annie Smith; sister, Kathy Dahl; sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Terry Blackman; special brother-in-law, Rick Poole; grandchildren, Austin, MaKenzie, Abigail and Alyson; numerous nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and a host of caring friends also survive. Pallbearers will be John Paul Dahl, Ricky Dean Smith, Matthew Harris, Rick Poole, B.J. Taylor, and David Neal Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Alexander and Morris "Possum" McColllum.
