Marvin Phillips Obituary

Marvin James Phillips, 51, of Beaumont, TX. passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Linnie D. Wright Phillips; parents, Joseph and Carolyn Guillory, Sr.; sons, Damien Wright (Katherine) and Christopher Wright (Patricia); daughters, Ashley Hardy (Anthony) and Brittany Wright (Michael); sisters, Marilyn Blackmon (Charles), Donna Harrison, and Regina Gardiner; brothers, Joseph Guillory, Jr. (Tameka); grandmother, Louise Phillips; aunt, Katharine Trahan; great aunt, Nancy Winn Hebert; great uncle; Walter Winn, Sr.; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

I had the honor and the pleasure to know Bubba for a really long time. I had the greatest respect for Bubba. With his generous nature and sharing his remarkable sense of humor.

I will always remember BUBBA walking the streets of Beaumont, especially, Waverly,Iola,Westmoreland and South 6th, it just won't seem the same without him! Bubba is HOME FREE to walk the streets of HEAVEN now, oh what a beautiful walk it will be!
