Melvin Domingue Obituary

Melvin Roy Domingue, age 81, of Port Neches, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Melvin was born in Port Arthur on October 27, 1930, to Lottie Lemaire and Joseph Melvin Domingue. He attended St. Catherine and St. James schools and graduated from Bishop Byrne in 1949. Melvin retired from Texaco as a General Foreman on the North side, after 37 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Melvin had been a resident of Port Arthur, Groves, and for the last 40 years, in Port Neches. Melvin was a avid boat racer, hunter, and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 37 years, Margaret Rose Doyle Domingue, who passed away in 1994. He is survived by his son, John Marcus Domingue and wife, Karen of Beaumont; brothers, James Donald and wife, Louise Domingue of Nederland, Charles Wayne Domingue and wife, Linda of Fannette; sister, Charlotte Ann Grant and husband, Erroll of Kountze; and grandson, Cody Austin Domingue of Port Neches; extended family, Rhondal and Mary Domingue. Visitation will be on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m., at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson, with internment to follow at Greeenlawn Memorial Park. A special thank you to Dr.Santos Soberon and office staff and Dr. John Reji, Courtney, and Rosie.
