Norman May Obituary

Dr. Norman Chalmers May, 85, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Born in Beira, Mozambique, he grew up in London, England, earned an Engineering degree, and later pursued medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He practiced dermatology for decades in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, and later in Texas, before retiring in 2020. Norman was an avid runner and rower, and in Canada he founded Saber Shells, building rowing shells that reflected his engineering talent and love of sport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, and his son, Andrew. He is survived by his brother, John May of Hemel Hempstead, England; his daughter, Jacqueline (Jason) Traster of Powder Springs, GA; and grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Ryan. He will be remembered for his dedication to medicine, his adventurous spirit, and, most of all, his devotion to family. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 PM EST and continue until service time.
