Pauline Haney Lusk

1928 - 2014 Pauline Haney Lusk, born on January 7, 1928 in McKInney, Texas to Arthur Blain Haney and Margie Ethel Renfro and a member of the Greatest Generation, departed this world on September 2, 2014 at the age of 86. Polly, as she was known to her friends and family, retired from Shell Oil Company after over 30 years of service, first at the refinery in Deer Park, then in downtown Houston in Shell Plaza and finaly at the Wood Creek Facility. She had a talent for arranging flowers, was a ballroom dancer with Fred Astaire Dance Studio for a time and loved all things Hispanic: the culture, the food, the music and most especially the people. Polly was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Blain Ervin Haney. She is survived by her children, Dr. Debra Lusk of Beaumont, Texas; Charles Lusk of Mansfield, Texas; five grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Weinman, Ian Joseph Lusk, Caitlin Marie Lusk, Sean Thomas Lusk and Connor Michael Lusk; several nieces and a nephew; and a host of friends and neighbors in the Wilcrest Walk Townhomes where she resided for many years. Many thanks to the caring nurses and staff at Gentiva Hospice and the Clairmont Nursing Home. A funeral service will take place at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079, on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., the family will be receiving guests at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
